    The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) announced that Charlottesville Virginia-based “Team Jefferson” has been invited to the semi-finals of the DARPA Grand Challenge 2005. The “Challenge” is a race of robotic vehicles across the California desert which holds a purse of $2 million dollars.
