Podcast: Talking Drone Regulations with Attorney Steve Hogan

We discuss why the drone industry should be more concerned about laws on the local level than the FAA regulations.


Drone registration is popping up all over the world. Germany, Ireland and the United States are exploring drone registration. Ireland and the US hope to implement their respective systems by this holiday season, while Germany has simply proposed the idea.

In this episode of the Robotics Trends Podcast, we chat with Steve Hogan, an attorney at Ausley & McMullen in Tallahassee, Florida. One of Hogan’s focuses is commercial drones on the state and local levels.

We discuss the uproar over drone registration, some of the loopholes in the proposed system, and why drone hobbyists and the drone industry should be more concerned about laws on the local level than the FAA regulations.
