Adept Technology's new Adept Quattro s800 extended-reach, parallel-style robot.

Adept Technology Inc., a provider of vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, introduced a new model of its high-speed, parallel-style robot, Adept Quattro. The Adept Quattro s800H expands high-throughput capabilities toward applications with larger work space requirements.

The Adept Quattro s800H parallel robot was specifically designed for high-speed applications in packaging, manufacturing, assembly, and material handling, boasting a 1600 mm work envelope. According to Adept, the newest member of the Quattro family offers the company’s control algorithms and design combined with a larger work envelope, making the s800H “an ideal overhead-mount robot when smooth motion, high-throughput, and the ability to reach a large work space are critical for project success.”

The patented four-arm design contributes to a reduction in power consumption by 23 percent when compared to alternate kinematic solutions, says Adept, which also claims the Adept Quattro reduces cycle times and improves footprint efficiency, due to its compact controls and embedded amplifiers.
