Robotic VISION Technologies LLC (RVT) has released eVisionFactory (eVF) Version 6.0, which includes new features and is designed to deliver simplicity, standardization, commonality, and flexibility for applications in the industrial, government, and defense markets.

The eVF 6.0 software for creating vision-guided robotics solutions provides “intelligence”—that is, the ability to see and make necessary adjustments, without human involvement, to any industrial robot, such as FANUC, MOTOMAN, KUKA, ABB, and KAWASAKI, that supports serial Ethernet or industrial communication protocol. As a result of these new developments, RVT says it is able to offer its products to customers and partners at a much lower price point.

New features of eVF 6.0 include the Vision Manager, which controls multiple vision controllers; simplified robot program routines that allow easy integration of robots; a circle pose calculator with which two or more concentric circles can be used to calculate a 3D pose; a multi-camera pose calculator from RVT’s Surround Vision 3D (SR3D); and integrated lighting control through the vision controller.

Six products are available from the eVF 6.0 software: SC3D (single-camera 3D), SR3D (multi-camera 3D), SL3D (structured light 3D), SC2.5D (single-camera in four degrees of freedom), SC2D (single or multi-camera 2D in three degrees of freedom), and Random Bin Picking (RBP). A developer’s license is also needed. Incentives are provided for partners and end-users.

SC3D, SC2.5D, SC2D and SR3D and RTPT (Real Time Part Tracking) are RVT products that are patent protected. RBP, SL3D and Direct Depth 3D (DDSD) are RVT products with patents pending.
