Cogmation’s robotic simulator is now part of National Instruments’ LabVIEW Robotics control programs, providing a graphical interface for faster simulation.
robotSim Pro, from Cogmation Robotics Inc., is a 3D physics-enabled robotic simulator designed to streamline the design and testing of robotic control programs, algorithms, and behaviors. robotSim Pro is now included in National Instruments’ LabVIEW Robotics 2010.
The National Instruments’ robotic advisory group identified robotic simulation as a requirement for a comprehensive robotics offering. robotSim, the first product in a long-term vision for a comprehensive robotic simulation product family, was followed by robotSim Pro and recently by robotBuilder (a 3D robot design and editing program) released at NIWeek 2010.
robotSim Pro features physics-based simulation, 3D visualizations, customization of robotic component specifications, and a 3D editor to create and modify test environments and objects. It provides a graphical interface for faster simulation using LabVIEW Robotics control programs. robotBuilder adds the capability to create and modify 3D virtual models of the robots for immediate simulation in robotSim Pro, without any programming.
With robotSim Pro there is no need to learn another development language or write simulation programs before starting the simulation. LabVIEW developers can easily switch between simulation and the real robot by interchanging robotSim Pro’s simulation VIs with the corresponding active component VIs for any robot.
