Watch the History of Robots in 10 Minutes

Why don’t we have robots taking care of our every need by now? A little history of the field of robotics might help you understand how hard it is to get machines to perform tasks, and far we’ve come in just a few decades.

So the robot revolution hasn’t exactly gone as we were told it would.

Robots haven’t taken over the world.

They haven’t stolen all of our jobs - yet.

And they’re not totally self-aware - yet.

The robot revolution is happening, just not as quickly as most thought. And the reason for that, Sci Show says in its 10-minute look at the history of robots, is because “we can dream up awesome designs and uses for robots faster than we can actually invent them.”

Couldn’t have said it better myself, and the video is quite entertaining - and informative. Give it a watch at the top of the page.
