Uber is currently developing a self-driving car. The ride-hailing service partnered with the University of Arizona in August 2015, which was the latest in a string of moves Uber has made to strengthen its self-driving car team. Uber snatched up 50 roboticists from Carnegie Mellon University to specifically work on self-driving cars, and it bought digital mapping specialist deCarta and hired former Google head of mapping Brian McClendon.
