A new iPad game release called Robot Tycoon lets players build and manage a virtual robot factory. Available for $4.99 at Apple’s App Store, the game gives players total control of their imaginary companies. In the process, they encounter challenges on every aspect of the business and must carefully balance customer elements such as design, pricing, and human resources to grow the business from door-to-door sales to a big robot factory that pumps out robots round the clock.
Developed by entrepreneurs at the Acton Foundation for Entrepreneurial Excellence, the game was created to address real-world business concepts and issues facing start-up companies.
The title’s PC version has been used in top educational institutions such as the Harvard Business School and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management to give students basic insights into running a company.
