FAA’s Recreational Drone Registration Struck Down in Court

A federal court rules the FAA's mandatory recreational drone registration violates Section 336 of the FAA Modernization and Reform Act that Congress passed in 2012. For now, drones used for recreational purposes don't need to be registered with the FAA, however, drones used for commercial purposes still need to be registered.
