Robotics Joins Walll Street Journal’s 2006 Innovation Awards

Latest Awards Include New Categories Covering Robotics, Technology Design Blogs and Consumer Electronics

The Wall Street Journal has announced that nominations are open for its third annual global Technology Innovation Awards. This year includes a variety of new categories that reflect the expanding role technology plays in our lives, including consumer electronics, Web sites/tech blogs, technology design and robotics.
Designed to recognize a wide range of technological breakthroughs, new products, inventions and services by individuals, companies and organizations around the world, the Awards also cover biotech-medical, broadcast/satellite, computing systems, e-commerce, energy/environment, materials and other base technologies, media/entertainment, network/Internet technologies/broadband, security and privacy, semiconductors/electronics, software, transportation and wireless.

Judging is undertaken by an independent panel, with each entry judged on its own merits. Winners from each category are then put forward for judges to select the overall Gold, Silver and Bronze winners for the competition.

Winners will be featured in an editorial special to be published in all editions of The Wall Street Journal--including The Wall Street Journal Online at WSJ.com--on Sept. 11, 2006. An awards ceremony will take place at Dow Jones VentureWire’s Emerging Ventures conference in San Jose, California on Oct. 17, 2006.
