Delivery Robots Legalized in Virginia
By Steve Crowe · 2 March, 2017 • Starting on July 1, 2017, Virginia will allow delivery robots to operate autonomously on crosswalks and sidewalks. The delivery robots can't travel faster than 10 MPH or weigh more than 50 lbs, but the law doesn't require the delivery robots to stay within the visual line of sight of a human operator.

Starship and Mercedes-Benz, a business unit of Daimler, partnered in September 2016 on a van that will carry Starship robots to pre-agreed locations to load and unload goods and then dispatch the .delivery robots in the final step for on-demand delivery.

Swiss Post Testing Starship Technologies Delivery Robots
