Adept Technology Announces Two Packaging Robots

Adept Technology, Inc.  (NASDAQ:ADEP), a leading provider of intelligent vision-guided robotics and global robotics services, announced its two newest packaging robots which the company will be showcasing at the upcoming Pack Expo International Show being held November 9-13, 2008 in Chicago, Illinois.  The Adept Cobra s850 SCARA and the Adept Quattro s650H parallel robots are the newest robots in the company’s full line of packaging automation products.  The robots will be featured on the company’s booth #E-6934. 

“The Pack Expo show is the premier packaging show for manufacturers looking for the latest innovations in packaging,” said John Dulchinos, president and chief executive officer for Adept Technology, Inc.  “Manufacturers looking to package faster, better and more cost effectively shouldn’t miss the show and the unique capabilities of these two new robots.”

The Adept Cobra s850 robot is a high-payload SCARA mechanism designed to handle heavier packaged goods.  It features a longer Z-stroke or reach for more flexible case and carton loading in packaging applications.  The Adept Quattro s650H is the company’s newest parallel robot designed for stringent hygienic environments.  The robot is ideal for safe food-handling applications and is designed to handle parts up to 6 kg. 

Additionally at the show Adept products will be featured on R.A.  Jones & Company’s booth # S-830.  R.A.  Jones & Company is one of Adept’s preferred packaging partners.  The RA Jones booth will feature two complete packaging lines integrated with an Adept Cobra s850 SCARA robot, an Adept Cobra s850 SCARA inverted robot, an Adept Viper s850 Inverted 6-axis robot and dual Adept Quattro s650 parallel robot.
