DENSO Introduces New WINCAPS III Offline Programming Software

3-D simulation simplifies workcell layout, allows offline programming of robots and remote monitoring of operations.

DENSO’s new WINCAPS III offline programming software saves users valuable development time by allowing them to program a robot on an offline computer, without the robot having to be in operation.

A 3-D simulation feature conveniently enables layout of the automation workcell in a virtual environment.  CAD drawings can be imported in standard VRML and DirectX formats, and variables can easily be input or changed.  Users can verify reach, determine obstacle clearances, detect collisions, troubleshoot and debug programs, and determine cycle time.

The software also allows remote monitoring of workcell operations via real-time I/O status indicators and detailed control logs.  A panel design feature allows customization of the robot controller’s teaching-pendant display.

“WINCAPS III is a very powerful programming and monitoring tool,” said Peter Cavallo, robotics sales manager, DENSO Sales California.  “Customers have repeatedly told us how much time it saves them and how much easier it makes their jobs.”

DENSO is the world’s largest user of small assembly robots, with more than 16,000 DENSO robots designed and used in its own manufacturing facilities.  More than 37,000 DENSO robots are used in other companies.  DENSO Robotics offers a complete line of robots, controllers and software covering a wide range of applications.  For more information, visit http://www.densorobotics.com
