INNOROBO's third installation, held in Lyon from the 19th to the 21st of March, reports:

  • A robotics pool of excellence with the European Robotics Forum and Innorobo happening at the same time and place
  • A meeting and business place: Researchers, Start-ups with innovative projects, robotics companies and major groups were present
  • More than 300 robots and technologies showcased
  • A robotics plan announced by French Minister M. Arnaud Montebourg

INNOECHO has again, this year, reinforced the position of INNOROBO as the unique International summit dedicated to service robotics in Europe by welcoming not only a very broad number of exhibitors – over 130 companies, labs, start-ups and schools have showcased their technologies and know-how during 3 days – but also by jointly organizing with the GDR Robotique and euRobotics aisbl, and in parallel of Innorobo, the venue of the European Robotics Forum, making of Lyon and the region Rhône-Alpes, partners of the event, a true pool of robotics excellences and a meeting and business place.

"Service robotics itself will represent a market of 100 billiion Euros in 2020 from the source of the European commission and this market will be 30 times bigger in 10 years," declared Arnaud Montebourg during his presentation at Innorobo.

INNOROBO has indeed been honored by the presence of 2 ministers: Arnaud Montebourg, and Michèle Delaunay. Taking advantage of this unique opportunity of meeting with both the French Research and the companies, Mr Montebourg has announced his national robotics plan "France Robot Initiative" which aim, among others, is to help SME to get robotics equipment to gain in competitiveness and maintain production within the hexagon. Its dotation is of 100 millions Euros.

Service robotics market is growing and getting much more professional, as noted Catherine Simon, president of INNOECHO: "The event has registered 15 000 entries over the 3 days, so a growth of 25% in comparison to 2012 edition, with visitors from 38 different nationalities. This important increase, despite the economical crisis situation, shows the awareness of the potential of service robotics, not only from public institutions, but also from many other sectors of activity such as transportation, household appliances manufacturers, or yet again from digital & telecommunication companies, as well as the opportunity of growth by the innovation. This year at INNOROBO, people were coming to do business, the professional curiosity phase is behind.”
