Formula One Driverless

In 2014, a self-driving Audi RS7 clocked an amazing 149 MPH during a full-lap demo at Germany’s Hockenheimring Formula One race track. Dubbed “Bobby,” the 560-horsepower car hit full throttle on the track's six straights and took all corners smoothly to complete the jaw-dropping ride.

For all that, the self-driving car’s performance turned out to be slightly below that of human drivers, as it completed the lap in roughly 2 minutes, 10 seconds - around 30 seconds slower than the times posted by professionally-trained humans in races held after Audi's demonstration.

You win, puny humans. For now.
