KITT Meets the Police

No self-driving car listicle would be complete without a reference to the Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), star of 80s TV atrocity “Knight Rider.”

Self-driving, baddie-chasing, Renault ad-inspiring, and quite a good conversationalist, KITT seemed far-fetched at the time. Not so much now.

Every journey KITT made was epic. That's a given. But this video, taken at the end of a long ordeal for KITT, shows an encounter between KITT and some skeptical police officers that highlights just how far our understanding of self-driving cars has come since KITT first graced TV screens in the early 80s.
