Jibo Social Robot for the Home

Amount Raised: $3,710,410

Jibo is the most successful robot crowdfunding campaign ever, as you probably know. Jibo is designed to serve as a hands-free personal assistant, capable of providing reminders, recording photos and video, and interacting with Internet of Things devices.

The tabletop robot can also be a companion for the young and elderly and help families stay in contact through telepresence. In addition, Jibo’s algorithms could enable it to learn the user’s preferences, said the company. A software developer’s kit could widen potential uses for Jibo.

We also recently learned Jibo’s design team borrowed from the classic principles of animation to bring the family robot to life.
