Following a 10 month audit process, developer of control solutions for military and commercial applications, including manned and unmanned vehicles, is certified as a supplier that meets global quality management standards for the aerospace industry.

Ultra Electronics Measurement Systems Inc. (MSI) is proud to announce its achievement of AS9100 Certification. The coveted certification was awarded on October 26, 2009 following a 10-month preparation and audit process. With nearly 50 years of experience supporting the defense and aerospace markets with military and industrial grade hand controls and human machine interface systems, this certification marks MSI’s commitment to continued excellence in the execution of its quality systems and its commitment to the customers it serves.

“MSI’s newly acquired AS9100 certification signifies the company’s commitment to meet and frequently exceed increasingly stringent industry requirements as a world-class supplier of aerospace and defense related products to civil and military markets. Our achievement of this certification is a reflection of continuous efforts and commitments made by our employees to provide products of the highest quality that help to ensure mission success. With our quality systems certified to AS9100, our customers are assured that our process-oriented approach will meet their own rigorous quality requirements,” stated Ken Tasch, President Ultra MSI.

AS9100 is the first global quality management standard and the most stringent certification intended to ensure consistency of quality for the aviation, space and defense industry throughout the supply chain. Having achieved this certification, Ultra MSI is certified as a supplier that operates to the world-class standards of the aerospace industry and relies on a robust quality management system.

Larry Falco, Ultra MSI’s Director of Total Quality & Lean Systems, spearheaded the company’s efforts, which resulted in achieving a recommendation for certification following the first set of third party audits. “Achieving AS9100 certification puts MSI a step ahead of our competition and demonstrates our dedication and commitment to provide the highest quality engineered and manufactured products to our customers. We are now more closely aligned with the specific markets in the aerospace and defense industries that utilize our products. This well-deserved achievement further emphasizes the dedication of our employees to implementing our quality systems and providing our soldiers with the best control systems available.”

As an ISO 9001 certified company prior to receiving its AS9100 certification, Ultra MSI has always been committed to designing and producing the highest quality and most robust control solutions for our war fighters. The company’s quality is demonstrated not only in its commitment to continuous improvement and lean practices, but also in the engineering excellence inherent in its products resulting in truly ruggedized precision control through non-contact sensing technologies and robust systems solutions.
