PITTSBURGH, PA – RedZone Robotics, which develops and markets innovative, semi-automated solutions that provide an effective, powerful, and economical method to inspect sewer and water pipes, will be featured on the History Channel’s special on the evolution of sewer technology. The program will air on Wednesday, July 27 at 9:00 p.m. EST and Saturday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. EST.

The program is part of the History Channel’s “Modern Marvels” series. It will discuss the history of sewers and their evolution from ancient Rome to today. The final portion of the program, which will spotlight RedZone’s patent-pending technology, will focus on emerging technologies in sewer inspection and rehabilitation. The RedZone segment was filmed in and around Pittsburgh and features the company’s Responder robotic platform. RedZone’s Chief Technology Officer, Scott Thayer, also appears in the program and discusses how RedZone incorporates multiple sensors to create 3D models of sewer pipes. The segment focuses on how RedZone gathers and analyzes the necessary data required to understand the condition of these systems by leveraging the company’s robotics and engineering expertise as well as its relentless focus on customers’ challenges and needs.

“RedZone is honored to be included in this program as we know firsthand the challenges associated with inspection and rehabilitation of the dated sewer systems in our country and around the world,” commented Eric Close, Chief Executive Officer of RedZone. “There is an urgent need to upgrade and remediate this sewer infrastructure and we anticipate that this Modern Marvels segment will spotlight that need and encourage legislators to put the necessary funding in place.”

“Modern Marvels” appears every Wednesday on the History Channel at 9:00 EST. The show celebrates the ingenuity, invention and imagination of fascinating people who have created technological breakthroughs, everyday items and man-made wonders. For more information on the Sewer segment, visit
