Producer of surgical robotics products provides Georgia medical center with FreeHand advanced surgery technology designed for minimally invasive, laparoscopic surgery. Surgical robotics company Prosurgics announces the first sale of a FreeHand laparoscopic camera controller in Georgia. Supporting the Atlanta metro area, the South Fulton Medical Center is a modern facility known for medical innovation and state-of-the-art equipment. Two top surgeons, Dr. Kevin Edmonds and Dr. Vijaykumar Patel, performed a series of surgeries this fall using FreeHand. Dr. Edmonds, an OB/GYN surgeon, used it for laparoscopic hysterectomies and other cases. Dr. Patel, a general surgeon, performed several other types of surgeries, including a colon resection.
